World Cup holders Germany’s surprise reverse against Mexico in their opener should serve as a warning as to how tough the tournament is, according to Isco.

Spain, Portugal and Brazil all registered draws in their first games but it was Die Mannschaft who provided the first real surprise.
On Sunday, they were beaten 1-0 by Mexico in a result that Isco believes is a good indicator of how difficult it is to be successful in the World Cup.
“Germany are the champions but anything can happen in one game and Mexico were very good,” he told the assembled media in Krasnodar.
“They made things very difficult for Germany and won the game, which shows the kind of competition that this is.
“Everyone is very motivated and you have to be thorough and prepare very well for each game when you face these teams.”
Isco also touched on the story of the World Cup so far, which saw coach Julen Lopetegui leave two days before their opener after agreeing a deal with Real Madrid.
The playmaker insisted that it has not impacted the unity within the group and he is also excited to link up with the coach in the Spanish capital.
“The situation happened but our dream is greater than anything else that may happen and we are so motivated,” he continued.
“This is a World Cup and there’s only one every four years so we know just how difficult it is just to be here.
“We have to leave all of that behind us now and we can’t be sorry about anything that did or didn’t happen.
“Now, we must focus on the football, which brings us joy and simply focus on the next game.
“As a group, we are always together, messing around and there is a good vibe among us and that shows on the field because if you are united off the park, everything is easier on it.
“With Lopetegui, he is a coach who I have known for many years and we have met throughout the youth groups of the national team.
“He has place great faith in me and given me a lot of confidence. He’s a great coach.”
