France won the World Cup in spectacular fashion on Sunday afternoon with a 4-2 victory over Croatia, with a starring role played by Kylian Mbappe, and if Barcelona and Real Madrid are serious about signing the best players, they have to try and get him.
Despite just being 19 years old, the Paris Saint-Germain forward approached the biggest match in football with a confidence that was infectious.
His assured smile during the pre-match rendition of La Marseillaise set the tone as he delivered a near perfect attacking display, with his goal coming in the second half.
Mbappe was ably supported by Paul Pogba, who was a colossus in both halves of the pitch, however in a summer where Real Madrid need to replace Cristiano Ronaldo, the obvious candidate is the teenager.
Scoring in a World Cup final ensured the former Monaco star became the first teenager to score in the showpiece since a 17-year-old Pele found the net against Sweden in 1958.
PSG paid 180 million euros to sign Mbappe in the summer of 2017, and it’s incredibly difficult to argue that his market value isn’t even higher at this moment.
He’s now a World Cup winner and has performed on the biggest possible stage, he’s playing at an incredibly high level and he can only improve.

Los Blancos need to restructure their attacking options following the Portuguese’s departure and whilst they have been linked with Neymar, if they are serious about signing the best and getting a long-term fix then Mbappe is the only option.
