Brazil on Sunday night, sang home the song of victory as they won the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2019 at Brasilia’s Estadio Bezerrao.

Brazil came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory over Mexico

The Brazilians became the second host nation in 18 editions to win the trophy, which appears not destined for host countries.

Before now, only Mexico in 2011 had hosted and won. Other host nations failed in the final as it happened to Scotland in 1989 and Nigeria in 2009.

Falling behind midway through the second half, the Brazil stormed back to capture their fourth U-17 title and thus a trophy closer to Nigeria’s five-time victories.

Substitute Lazaro’s volleyed strike three minutes into second-half stoppage time propelled his side to victory while bringing jubilation to the 13,000-plus fans on hand.
