After Barcelona won the Champions League in Xavi’s last match for the club against Juventus, Paul Pogba was noticed by club scouts. Robert Fernández saw great potential in him, and the scouts monitored his progress as he succeeded legend Andrea Pirlo in Turin.
But after that, he chose to return to Manchester United in a world-record €120 million deal. At Old Trafford, he has inconsistent. José Mourinho hasn’t been able to make full use of him due to his injury-prone nature and at times, Pogba has struggled to perform.
At the World Cup, the 25-year old midfielder has done well. He has played in all but one of France’s games, and has provided 1 assist. But Paul Pogba might be on his way out of Manchester United, as Mino Raiola is looking for potential destinations for his client.
Raiola already has a client in Barcelona in the form of La Masia student Xavi Simons. He visited the club facilities in recent days, and also spoke with club officials. The super agent informed the club that Paul Pogba was looking for an exit, and he was available for transfer.
But the club should not take advantage of this opportunity. The management has already signed Arthur to succeed Ivan Rakitić, and Carles Aleñá is already there at the club. The club needs to sign a successor to Sergio Busquets, and Paul Pogba is not the player for that.
He is more attacking in nature, while the club needs a defensive midfielder. Adrien Rabiot is more suited to the club than Pogba. Also, Paul Pogba would be very expensive and at this point in time, his signing is economically nonviable.
