The 2-1 victory on against Nigeria in the ongoing tournament was simply historical. lt was a remarkable feat for them for many reasons. It was significant for them not because of the scores, but complete a paradigm shift.

For the first time in 32 years and spanning seven matches, Australia came from the blues to beat Nigeria at the U17 level.
Australia, on Friday at the Estadio Bererrao in Brassilia inflicted the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria their first defeat in the last group stage of Group B matches, in the ongoing U-17 World Cup in Brazil.
With four points in three matches, and having a better record than the other third placed team in Groups A (New Zealand) Australia is quite comfortable as the lucky third placed qualifiers.

Australia have the good form of Noah Botic to thank for the result obtained.

Botic scored the two goals that took the Ocean-based but Asian Football Confederation qualifiers to the knockout stage.
